// About the range
A Private 400-Acre Range in Southern Utah
Brave Lizard Tactical is a private outdoor shooting range and training complex near St. George and Cedar City — steel to one mile, every discipline, and an onsite RV park to stay and train.

// Our mission
Out here, on purpose.
Brave Lizard Tactical operates a private 400-acre outdoor shooting range and training complex in the Southern Utah desert. We serve members, guests, families, private groups, corporations, and law enforcement and military personnel — anyone serious about getting better with a firearm in a safe, professional environment. Our mission is straightforward: provide exceptional, safe, educational, and genuinely enjoyable outdoor firearms training and adventures.
The core team is professionally trained and certified — civilians, law enforcement professionals, and US military-trained experts, including NRA-certified instructors and Chief Range Safety Officers. Safety is the first thing we teach and the standard we hold on every bay, so first-timers and experienced shooters alike can push their skills with confidence.
// Why here
More than a shooting lane
Most “shooting ranges” near St. George and Cedar City are a handful of indoor lanes or a public firing line with a paper target at a fixed distance. Brave Lizard is something else entirely — a private 400-acre complex built for people who want to actually train, not just punch holes in paper from behind a bench.
Because the range is private, it’s never crowded and never rushed. Members shoot on their own schedule, classes run in small groups, and the whole property is yours to use the way real training demands: moving, shooting from cover, and working problems on natural desert terrain. Every discipline lives under one gate — pistol, carbine, rifle, precision rifle and shotgun each have dedicated space, and the precision range reaches steel all the way out to a confirmed one mile.
Reactive steel, moving targets, shoot houses, vehicles, barricades and an elevated sniper tower turn marksmanship drills into scenarios that look a lot more like the real world than a static lane ever could — then the onsite RV park lets you stay the weekend and do it again.

// The point
Training that transfers
Gear and acreage only matter if they make you better. Every feature on the range exists to build a specific, transferable skill — from the fundamentals of grip, stance and trigger control to the split-second decisions of clearing a shoot house.
Our instructors meet you where you are, whether that’s your first time holding a pistol or refining a sub-MOA precision position, and scale the challenge as you grow. The result is training that holds up when it counts, not just a good day on the square range.

The people and the standard
The instructor cadre behind Brave Lizard is drawn from Naval Special Warfare, the Marine Corps infantry, law enforcement, and decades of serious civilian shooting. They hold instructor and Chief Range Safety Officer certifications across pistol, carbine, precision rifle and more, and they teach the way good instructors do — patiently, practically, and with a relentless focus on safety.
Small class sizes mean individual coaching is the default, not a luxury, so you leave every session with something you can measure. Meet the people who run the range on our Our Team page.
